REVIEW | City of Glass by Cassandra Clare

REVIEW | City of Glass by Ca..

Review “Waiting for a special occasion to kill me? Christmas is coming.” – Cassandra Clare I really enjoyed this third novel in the series. It was really nice to have a change of pace and a new setting from the previous two novels. This one takes place in Idris, aka “the City of Glass.” This is the shadowhunters homeland, making the setting both interesting and exciting. I loved getting to see the place where most shadowhunters are trained. Jace and Clary continue to be as frustrating as ever. He’s rude to her and she throws tantrums over not being brought […]

REVIEW | City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare

REVIEW | City of Ashes by Ca..

Review “I’ve heard the word ‘fear’. I simply choose to believe it doesn’t apply to me.” – Cassandra Clare For obvious reasons if you have not read City of Bones, I highly recommend not reading this review. I was completely shocked by the ending events of City of Bones. The tension was high with this novel. Clary spends the whole novel worrying about her mom, who is stuck in a coma after the events that transpiring in the first novel. I was completely sucked into the story again! Valentine is murdering innocent downworlders and is showing no mercy in his […]

AUTHOR INTERVIEW | S. Usher Evans

AUTHOR INTERVIEW | S. Usher ..

About S. Usher Evans: S. Usher Evans is an author, blogger, and witty banter aficionado. Born in Pensacola, Florida, she left the sleepy town behind for the fast-paced world of Washington, D.C.. There, she somehow landed jobs with BBC, Discovery Channel, and National Geographic Television before finally settling into a “real job” as an IT consultant. After a quarter life crisis at age 27, she decided consulting was for the birds and rekindled a childhood passion for writing novels. She sold everything she owned and moved back to Pensacola, where she currently resides with her two dogs, Zoe and Mr. […]

REVIEW | City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

REVIEW | City of Bones by Ca..

Review “The boy never cried again, and he never forgot what he’d learned: that to love is to destroy, and that to be loved is to be the one destroyed.” – Cassandra Clare. I know that a lot of readers either love Cassandra Clare and her books or hate Cassandra Clare and her books. I am happy to say that I belong to the former: I love Cassandra Clare’s books. I know that a lot of people have issues with Clare for certain reasons but I am keeping out of that bit of drama. City of Bones was an awesome […]

REVIEW | The Siren by Kiera Cass

REVIEW | The Siren by Kiera ..

Review “It was like staring at a piece of art or the stars in the sky. I just had to watch him.” – Kiera Cass Wow. I did not expect this. The Siren is so different from any of Kiera Cass’s Selection novels. I went into this novel expecting to end up with something similar to her previous novels. I thought it was going to be a love story between a prince and a siren. I was completely wrong. (Remember I go into novels not having read or having forgotten the synopsis.) For some reason that I can’t seem to […]

ARC REVIEW | Finding Hope by Colleen Nelson

ARC REVIEW | Finding Hope by..

Review Thank you to NetGalley and Dundurn for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.  This was my first Colleen Nelson book that I’ve gotten the chance to read. As always I went into this book with an open mind. This book ended up being okay for me. I felt like the story went by too fast. I felt like I needed more time to pass in the novel. Everything happened way too fast. The main character, Hope, moves to a new school and falls in love with some boy she has never met in person […]
