NOVELLA REVIEW | Steel Scars by Victoria Aveyard

NOVELLA REVIEW | Steel Scars..

Review “We all have scars and ghosts of our own. Some drove us to the Scarlet Guard, and some were because of it. I know the sting of both” – Victoria Aveyard IF YOU HAVEN’T READ RED QUEEN, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO SO BEFORE READING STEEL SCARS AND THIS REVIEW. Steel Scars is the second novella in the Red Queen series. It takes place right before and at the beginning of Red Queen. This novella is also told in the POV of a secondary character. This time it’s Farley’s turn to tell readers her story. Farley (code name: Lamb) […]

NOVELLA REVIEW | Queen Song by Victoria Aveyard

NOVELLA REVIEW | Queen Song ..

Review “The Calores are children of fire, as strong and destructive as their flame, but Cal will not be like the others before…He will not die fighting. He will not. HE WILL NOT.” –Victoria Aveyard IF YOU HAVEN’T READ RED QUEEN, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO SO BEFORE READING QUEEN SONG AND THIS REVIEW. When I found out that Queen Song was Coriane’s story, I was excited. While reading Red Queen I found myself constantly thinking about Cal’s mother and wondering what she was like. This novella expands on events that are mentioned in Red Queen and provides backstory for a […]

REVIEW | Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

REVIEW | Red Queen by Victor..

Review “The gods rule us still. They have come down from the stars. And they are no longer kind.” – Victoria Aveyard Let me just start with saying that Victoria Aveyard has created a world that is so beautifully written. The world of Red Queen is unjust, hateful, and scary. AND I LOVE IT. Seriously, I can get a little tired of worlds that aren’t really that evil, even though they claim to be. If you’re Silver you have nothing to worry about. These people are born with supernatural abilities. These abilities are what put them above the Reds. They […]

REVIEW | Passenger by Alexandra Bracken

REVIEW | Passenger by Alexan..

Review “Nicholas felt a rueful smile spread across his face. And a curse be on him for it, because now he knew her. She’d shown him her mind, and she’d opened up her heart, and now he knew the taste of her tears. And he was wrecked.” ― Alexandra Bracken, Passenger I purchased this book after quickly realizing its fast growing popularity. The hype surrounding this novel is huge. Yes, I am a follower. This is because I follow bloggers who have very similar tastes as me when it comes to reading. If they like the novel, most likely I […]

Waiting on Wednesday #6

Waiting on Wednesday #6

Why I’m Waiting I absolutely adore Kiera Cass’ novels. I fell in love with The Selection series from the moment I opened The Selection. While I am extremely sad that it is coming to a close this year, I am overjoyed that she is writing another series that I am sure to fall in love with as well. And I mean, hello, it’s about mermaids! Who wouldn’t be excited. I am looking forward to receiving my copy next week when it releases.

REVIEW | The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

REVIEW | The Fault in Our St..

Review “My thoughts are stars I cannot fathom into constellations.” – John Green I am having trouble writing down my feelings about this beautifully tragic novel. Before originally reading this novel, I had heard a little bit about what others thought after reading it themselves. I thought I knew what to expect. It turns out I was wrong. This book hurt my heart. Hazel’s lungs suck and her days are numbered because of them. Thanks to a miracle, Hazel has lived longer than the doctors thought she would but she knows the miracle won’t last forever. Due to Hazel rarely […]
